Ingredients (as a snack for 4 persons)

  • 6.17 oz. (175 g) Monterey Jack, grated
  • 6.17 oz. (175 g) Aged Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 8.45 fl. oz. (2.5 dl) white wine
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp Kirsch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper

For dipping

  • Mini pretzels
  • Tortilla chips

Materials

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix together the cheese and cornstarch. This will prevent the cornstarch from clumping. Rub the fondue pot with a garlic clove, pour in the wine and heat. When it is about to boil (do not allow the wine to boil), lower the heat and gradually add the cheese.
  2. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon. Season to taste with a dash of nutmeg and a little salt and pepper. Add the Kirsch and lemon juice. Serve with the mini pretzels and tortilla chips on a serving board. Enjoy!
